ABUJA: The Group General Manager, Public Affairs, Nigerian
National Petroleum Corperation (NNPC), Mr. Ohi Alegbe has disclosed that
his organisation receives as much as 300 foreign requests for various forms of
engagement monthly.
Alegbe made this disclosure yesterday when he pad a courstey
visit to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amb. Aminu Wali, stating that the 300
frequest help in assist and facilitate the overall benefit of the country.
“We are here to further solicit the ministry’s cooperation especially
in the interface with our foreign partners because we received an excess of 300
of them every month,” Alegbe said.
He however seeks for the assistance of the ministry to fast
track some of their requests at the ministry especially the note verbale.
In his remarks, Amb Wali assured it of his ministry’s assistance
as NNPC remains a viable economy flag bearer of Nigeria.
“We need good understanding because NNPC and Foreign Affairs
Ministry have a lot in common to ensure that Nigeria benefit from either exports
or imports.
“We will continue support you, I can assure you that we are
totally committed to promoting your interest all over the world.
“The flag bearer of the Nigerian economy today is NNPC. We
understand our role, your role and what is expected of us. I look forward to
more and more engagement, whenever there is a problem, come to us,” he said.
